Lori (she\/her) started volunteering with NAMI after taking Family-to-Family in 2010 and was named its first-ever executive director in 2012. Under Lori\u2019s leadership, NAMI has grown its annual budget 20-fold; tripled its program offerings; and spearheaded half a dozen community education initiatives. Prior to joining NAMI, Lori spent 30 years in professional communications, public relations and government relations positions. Kirk (he\/him) leads foundation fundraising, supports community outreach and event planning, and handles external communications and operational needs for NAMI. He started working with NAMI as a consultant in 2016 and joined the staff as communications and grants manager in 2018. Emma (she\/her) is a licensed social worker but is also known as NAMI\u2019s “data guru\u201d \u2014 the person who makes sure databases and systems in the background are working properly. Emma co-supervises social work interns, is a coordinator and instructor for Mental Health First Aid, and coordinates NAMI presentations as part of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training for law enforcement. Scott (he\/him) found NAMI in 2014, when he and his wife first attended NAMI\u2019s family programs. At the start of the pandemic in 2020, Scott found himself unemployed as an engineer in the oilfield and started volunteering at the NAMI front desk. The following year, he was asked to join the staff as office manager. John (he\/him) worked in the newspaper industry for several years as a pressman followed by a progression of warehouse\/general labor work. Jacob (he\/him) is an Air Force veteran and master\u2019s-level social worker. While he began his time with NAMI as a volunteer, Jacob was eventually hired as a staff member and now works as an office assistant. He also uses his military and mental health experience to help with outreach to local service members, veterans and their families. Prior to joining NAMI in 2024, Shy (any\/all) was a strong advocate for taking mental health into account during her six years working as a nurse.
